Week 3 (August 26-30th)

Hello families! We had a busy week continuing to practice routines and expectations while diving into our curriculum this week. Third grade is a huge shift in expectations for behavior and academics, but all of the kids are doing a great job! I am super proud of how hard they have been working!

Here's what we are learning next week:

Grammar: Adjectives
Reading: Those Shoes & A Bike Like Sergio's
Reading Skill: Compare/Contrast & introduce the RACE strategy
Writing: Continue with Personal Narrative
Science: Continue with Forces and Motion
Math: Module 1 (Topic B)
  • Students will be introduced to division. They will see multiplication as a way to find the total and division as a way to find out how many groups or the size of each group.
Homework this week:
  1. Read 20+ minutes
  2. Math fluency- 2's facts (due Friday)
  3. "Why Chipmunks Have Stripes" Article/Questions
  4. Practice skip counting by 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's & 10's
